A Classic Summer Event with a Twist: Tailgate Brings the Life Sciences Community Together
Despite the grey skies over Pittsburgh on Wednesday, August 12, the rain held off for the community to enjoy the music, food, and fun at Life Sciences Pennsylvania’s signature summer event, Life Sciences on the Lawn. This marked the first time Life Sciences Pennsylvania, a statewide trade association for the life sciences industry, brought the “tailgating’ idea to the southwest of the state.
“We were thrilled to host the Pittsburgh life sciences community for the inaugural “Life Sciences on the Lawn” event along with our friends from Collaborative Real Estate. It was great to see 200 guests enjoy an afternoon of networking, games, food, drinks and music, and a great opportunity to step outside the office and reconnect with colleagues across the southwestern Pennsylvania life sciences ecosystem,” said Christopher Molineaux, President & CEO, Life Sciences Pennsylvania.
From biotech decision-makers to digital health professionals, academic researchers, and regional innovation partners, all gathered for an afternoon together to share ideas, stories, and aspirations for the future. “This is more than just a networking event–it’s an opportunity to step outside with your team, reconnect with familiar faces, and enjoy meaningful time with friends and colleagues,” said Life Sciences Pennsylvania on the event’s website.
Setting work conversations aside was also an important element of the event. Every sponsor got to set up their tent however they liked, in creative and fun ways. While highlighting their science, services, and personalities, many had games and swag, with one even having an ice luge.
Spending the afternoon outdoors, on the lawn area at Nova Place, and traveling between different companies' creatively designed party areas gave attendees a chance to chat with friends and colleagues.
